Which one do you need?

Six things people notice before they call.

  • A room that never cools

    Conditioned air is arriving at a fraction of the pressure it should. Buildup along the run, a torn joint, or a length of flex duct that has sagged in the attic will each do it. This is a duct visit.

  • A musty smell when the system starts

    The smell arrives with the air, which puts its source inside the ductwork rather than in the room. Florida humidity is what feeds it, and it returns until the run is cleaned. This is a duct visit.

  • Dust back on the shelves in days

    If surfaces film over again within days of dusting, the system is putting it back faster than you take it off. A filter catches what reaches it, not what is already downstream. This is a duct visit.

  • Two cycles to dry one load

    The exhaust cannot carry the moisture away fast enough, so the machine runs again to finish the same load. That is the line, not the appliance. This is a dryer vent visit.

  • A dryer that is hot to the touch

    Heat that should be leaving with the exhaust is staying in the cabinet instead. With packed lint in the same duct, that is the condition behind laundry-room fires. This is a dryer vent visit.

  • Lint around the outside vent

    Either the cap has stopped sealing or the line is full enough to push lint back out. The flapper has to be checked from outside, not from the laundry room. This is a dryer vent visit.

The call

What the air is doing, or how long a load takes to dry. That one answer tells us which run to look at, how many people to send and how much of the day to block out, before anyone leaves the yard. If it suggests you do not need us yet, we will say so on the phone.

The estimate, on site

Cost depends on the size of the house, how many systems it has and what condition the ducts are in, so the number is given in your home once the technician has seen it, and before any work starts. A reviewer on the profile says the price was exactly what was quoted, with no hidden fees.

The work, under containment

The system is held under negative pressure with HEPA filtration while the brushes run, so what comes loose travels into the equipment instead of settling on your furniture. The dryer line is sealed to the vacuum the same way, which is why the lint does not end up in the laundry room.

The walk-through

Someone over eighteen walks the result with the technician: the photographs from inside the ducts before and after, what came out, and anything found on the way that is worth knowing about — a run of flex duct sagging in the attic, a loose boot, a vent cap whose flapper no longer seals.

Do I need the air ducts done, the dryer vent, or both?
They are two separate runs that share nothing but the house. The air-conditioning ducts are the ones behind your ceiling and wall registers; the dryer line goes from the connector behind the drum to a cap on the wall or the roof. If the complaint is about comfort, smell or dust, it is the ducts. If it is about how long a load takes to dry, it is the dryer line. Plenty of houses want both, and describing what you have noticed is usually enough for us to tell you which, on the phone.
Can both be done in the same visit?
Yes, and it is the usual arrangement when a house needs both. The two runs are cleaned with different tools but by the same crew on the same call, so you open the door once. Tell us on the phone that you want both and we will plan the time for it rather than find out on arrival.
If I can only do one now, which is more urgent?
The dryer vent. Lint is highly flammable and a blocked exhaust line is a leading cause of laundry-room fires, so a dryer that runs hot or needs two cycles is worth booking now rather than at the next convenient moment. Dirty air-conditioning ducts cost you comfort, energy and air quality, which is worth fixing — but it is not a fire.
How long does each one take?
A typical single-family home takes two to four hours for the air ducts, depending on how many supplies, returns and air handlers it has and whether the unit sits in the attic or the garage. Dryer vent cleaning on its own is usually under an hour. Booked together they run back to back on the same visit.
What does each one cost?
Pricing depends on the size of the home, the number of systems and the condition of the ducts, so there is no honest number to print on a page. You get a clear quote in your home, after the technician has looked and before any work starts, with no obligation to book on the day.
